Relaxing and gentle music can be beneficial and therapeutic for your health in many ways. Any music that you find soothing is considered to be relaxing music. Stress can be caused by many sources. One kind of stress comes from pollution pollution which is everywhere. It can affect you mentally and physically in a negative way. Music that relaxes your body can give you relief from loud noise. The rhythmic pattern, tone textures and harmonic resonances in music has been studied by researchers and noted to reduce stress or help manage it.

Stress can also cause sleep deprivation. There have been EEG studies that showed sleep can be induced by music. Levels of melatonin have been found to increase. The slow beats are one of the things that make music relaxing. Music with heavy beats may be distracting so you can not relax. Your heart rate will slow down if the music is calming you. Blood pressure and respiration will also be affected positively.

Relaxing and gentle music can also be called healing music because of the way it helps you deal with different emotions. Many times it will change the way you feel. Music can activate areas of the brain that make you feel happy. Because music can elevate your mood, it may help if you suffer from depression. Some research states that depression symptoms can be eased by up to 25 percent just from listening to music. One reason for this may be that music can make you feel more positive. Mozart is one type of music that's been found to calm the mind and the body rhythms. It's also said to improve communication of emotions, concepts and thoughts.

Your body feels better in a relaxed state which can boost your immune system. Music can also be used as a healing tool to encourage a response to healing. A beneficial way to use music for healing is to use it along with other healing techniques. There is much proof that listening to the right sounds and vibrations can boost the immune system. Some types of music can even increase lymphocytes or cells that fight infection. When the hormone cortisol is high it can cause your immune system to be weaker. The right music can decrease the levels of cortisol. It's best to choose the type of music that makes you personally feel better when you listen to it.

Some ideas for relaxing and gentle music are Brahms's Lullaby and Waltzes by Strauss. Some of today's music includes Transparentcies by Graham Jackson and Memories by Annie Locke. Other music that is perfect for relaxing is piano, flute, cello, strings and violin. Nature music is also a type of music that is very calming.
